Stride was created to fill the gap between clinical care and the real, complex lives families are navigating every day.

A Shared Conviction

Stride Denver was founded from a shared conviction that mental health care should be deeply personal, clinically excellent, and built around the whole family. Meg and Paul created Stride with a vision for something different: a practice rooted in genuine collaboration and deep care, where clinicians think creatively, confidently, compassionately, and collaboratively in the face of complex needs.

Their partnership started long before Stride, at the University of Virginia. Meg was running a nonprofit crisis hotline, while Paul designed and built the system that powered it. It was an early glimpse of what would define them: Meg’s vision for how care should feel, and Paul’s ability to help make that vision a reality.

The Vision

Seeing the Gap

Stride was born from Meg’s experience in high-acuity mental health settings, from youth crisis work to traumatic brain injury care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Again and again, she saw clients and families stuck in a revolving door of crisis, hospitalization, and uncertainty, with little sustained guidance through overwhelming systems.

What was missing was sophisticated, relational support. Someone who could think clinically while also helping families navigate long-term planning, family dynamics, and the broader structure needed to truly move forward. Meg’s experience gave her a comfort with complexity and a conviction that behind every diagnosis is a human story deserving of deeply personal care.

Bringing Stride to Life

As Stride took shape, something became clear: the approach was resonating. Families were looking for something more individualized, more thoughtful, and more integrated than what traditionally existed. Stride began building a clinical team to carefully extend the same philosophy to more families. The clinical vision, services, and systems that supported them continued to evolve to responsibly support growth and maintain the highest standard of care.

Today, Stride’s clinicians are supported by a dedicated leadership team that prioritizes staff wellbeing as a core operational principle. This provides the foundation for every clinician at Stride to do their best work, considering the whole family system, collaborating across disciplines, and staying grounded in compassion and clarity.

Our Shared Values

What began as a small practice has grown into a dedicated team united by a common purpose. Four values shape everything we do and every clinician we bring on board.

Creative

We approach every client with curiosity and a commitment to innovation, crafting individualized strategies that break through cycles, especially for those who feel like they've already tried everything.

Collaborative

The best outcomes happen when everyone works together. We bring your whole team together: family, caregivers, and trusted professionals, with humility and a commitment to shared goals.

Compassionate

We see the individual first and the diagnosis second, crafting care that honors each person's unique story with humanity, empathy, and personalized support.

Confident

Our team is self-assured, decisive, and unafraid to take initiative, whether tackling a complex clinical challenge or addressing unexpected needs with composure.
